The Illinois Rowing Association (ILRA) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, representing the alumni and friends of the University of Illinois Rowing Teams. The ILRA’s mission is the promotion and support of the sport of rowing at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and in the Central Illinois region.

The ILRA provides leadership and resources to ensure the University of Illinois Rowing Teams can continue to train, grow, and represent the University of Illinois in intercollegiate competition. The ILRA is dedicated to developing the University of Illinois Rowing Teams through equipment purchases, hiring coaches, and capital projects.
In November 2019, the Illinois Rowing Association was able to extend their lease at Clinton Lake for an additional 10 years, as well as receive permission to improve the facility with an expanded rowing course, more extensive docks, and a permanent boathouse. This year, the ILRA announced an agreement with the Illinois Department of Natural Resources (DNR) that will provide the ILRA with land along Clinton Lake where the ILRA will build a boathouse. The boathouse will significantly enhance the student-athlete experience for our club teams and will be a legacy for Illinois Rowing alumni. For more information, visit the BOATHOUSE CAMPAIGN.
