The Illinois Rowing Association (ILRA) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, representing the alumni and friends of the University of Illinois Rowing Teams. The ILRA’s mission is the promotion and support of the sport of rowing at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and in the Central Illinois region.
The ILRA provides leadership and resources to ensure the University of Illinois Rowing Teams can continue to train, grow, and represent the University in intercollegiate competition. The ILRA is dedicated to developing the University of Illinois Rowing Teams through equipment purchases, hiring coaches, and capital projects.
In November 2019 Illinois Rowing Association was able to extend their lease of the Clinton Lake rowing facility for an additional 10 years, as well as receive permission to improve the facility with an expanded rowing course, more extensive docks and a permanent Boathouse. Construction of this facility will allow the clubs to store their equipment indoors, as well as provide needed space to grow and further develop the teams and establish Clinton Lake as one of the Premier rowing venues in the Midwest.
