This race already features some of the top schools and clubs from the state of Illinois and surrounding region. The future outlook of the IJRI regatta is to continue to grow it into an annual staple on the calendars of top crews around the Midwest. What started out as a small dual race has grown to more than 100 entries and 376 athletes in 2019, more than double the year before. After a 2-year hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we are excited to be back on the water and continuing to grow!
The IJRI regatta is held at the Clinton Lake Rowing Venue, which has proven to be an amazing location for racing. The venue is undergoing continuous improvement with new docks, lane lines, buoys, and stake boats with the goal of making it the premier racing venue in the Midwest.
