8-12 entries - The top three crews from 2 heats will advance to the Grand Final with crews 4-6 racing in the Petite Final.

12+ entries - The top crew from three heats plus the next three fastest times will advance directly to the Grand Final. The next 6 fastest times will race in the Petite Final with the remaining crews ranked by time.

Awards

Gold medals will be awarded to the winners of each Grand Final. Silver and bronze medals will be awarded to the second and third place crews in events with at least three or four entries respectively. The Men’s and Women’s or Boy’s and Girl’s Points Trophies will be awarded to the Team with the most points scored by respective crews, according to the tables below. The Illinois State Championship Trophy will be awarded to the Illinois Team scoring the most points across both Men’s and Women’s or Boy’s and Girl’s racing. All trophies are to be returned for next year’s regatta, while an accompanying plaque will be permanently awarded to the winners to commemorate the victory. Any crews which would like to store the trophies at their home boat houses must sign a release agreeing to return the trophy in acceptable condition.

Points - Collegiate Racing

The top 3 finishes in any event will always score points according to the following standard. In races with 4 or more entrants, the last place crew will not score points. Teams racing multiple boats in an event may only score points for the top placing crew, although all crews will be eligible to win medals.

Points - Junior Racing

The top 3 finishes in any event will always score points according to the following standard. In races with 4 or more entrants, the last place crew will not score points. Teams racing multiple boats in an event may only score points for the top placing crew, although all crews will be eligible to win medals.

Scoring Contingencies:

Vacant lanes in the Grand Final of an event due to a less than 6 entries in the event will void point values for each vacant lane, starting with the first place points.

Scratches, made at any time before or during the regatta, or boats that do not finish a race will be ignored from the overall finish order and thus, in awarding points.
